It looks like Obama has achieved something monumental. He is the first black Presidential nominee in the history of America. Congratulations to him, but what does that mean for America? Could this be the beginning to something wonderful or could this lead America into Socialism?

Personally I believe that Obama is too far left to actually better America; he has plans to raise taxes on the investors and producers of America and that is a major reason that large corporations are leaving America and moving overseas. Will this be good for us? Punishing the Producers will only lead to unemployment, more people on welfare and an economic fall that would put a bungee jumper’s stomach to hurting. What will Barack Obama do that would be good for America?

Well, his plan as stated on his web site is this,

Healthcare for all:

    • Guaranteed eligibility. No American will be turned away from any insurance plan because of illness or pre-existing conditions.
    • Comprehensive benefits. The benefit package will be similar to that offered through Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP), the plan members of Congress have. The plan will cover all essential medical services, including preventive, maternity and mental health care.
    • Affordable premiums, co-pays and deductibles.
    • Subsidies. Individuals and families who do not qualify for Medicaid or SCHIP but still need financial assistance will receive an income-related federal subsidy to buy into the new public plan or purchase a private health care plan.
    • Simplified paperwork and reined in health costs.
    • Easy enrollment. The new public plan will be simple to enroll in and provide ready access to coverage.
    • Portability and choice. Participants in the new public plan and the National Health Insurance Exchange (see below) will be able to move from job to job without changing or jeopardizing their health care coverage.
    • Quality and efficiency. Participating insurance companies in the new public program will be required to report data to ensure that standards for quality, health information technology and administration are being met.

Let’s take this one step at a time shall we? First, he is going to make this healthcare plan so that everyone can qualify. Has anyone ever known anything that the government does that makes everyone qualified? Second, it will be similar to the healthcare that Congress receives. That one is going to take a lot of money to achieve. Third, affordable premiums and co-pays; from what I understand the majority of the people who do not have healthcare are the ones that do not have them because they cannot pay the premiums now. How can they lower the premiums so these people can afford them? Could it be that maybe by raising taxes one level up? Fourth, yep there it is; the all dreaded “The government will pay it for you” clause. Fifth, Simplified paperwork? Has anyone ever tried to get things done on Medicare or Medicaid? Simple alright if you are a lawyer. Sixth, that one sounds like anyone can get health coverage (I do mean anyone); even illegal immigrants. Seventh, maybe it’s portable because the Federal Government is paying for it with our TAX dollars. You know those tax dollars that would give you enough money to pay for your own healthcare if they did not take so much away from you. The best of all, Quality and efficiency; has anyone ever wondered why the insurance industry is in bad shape? I do not believe it could be all the regulations put on insurance companies, now could it?

Quality will fall to the way side because when the consumer is not paying for service, the service goes down. Socialistic Healthcare has only reduced the Quality of service and has never increased it. Canadians come to America to get the healthcare they need because the Socialist healthcare programs will not pay. Socialized medicine only creates healthcare rationing and that is what you will have.

Have you ever had to deal with Medicare or Medicaid? If you had, you would know exactly what a socialized healthcare system would be like. More red tape then you can handle and nothing will get done. It would take weeks or even months to get tests done, it would take months if not years to have some procedures done and unless you meet the qualifications, you might be denied surgeries or other procedures because of age, health conditions or other reasons. Is that what you want? Not me, I want a system where the consumer chooses the doctor and is not told who they have to see and what they have to do. Congress has created a problem where the only solution the people see is that the Government needs to make more regulations and laws.

Here is an e-mail that I received from a good friend of mine. I believe it explains what has happened to America and why the American people are crying out for the Government to do something. I am sorry for the repeat, but something’s are worth saying twice!

There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some
exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab, the Prof
noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and
stretching as if his back hurt.
The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him
he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting
communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country’s
government and install a new communist regime.
In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange
question. He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"
The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young
man said that it was no joke.
"You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting
corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the
free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down
oneside of the place where they are used to coming.
When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you
put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat
You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in
the last side.
The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to
eat that free corn again.
You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild
pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but
they are caught.
Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they
have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept
their captivity."
The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening
in America. The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism
and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as
supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax cuts, tax
exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops
(CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually lose our freedoms,
just a little at a time.
One should always remember two truths:
1) There is no such thing as a free lunch
2) and you can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than
you can do it yourself.
If you see that all of this wonderful government ‘help’ is a problem
confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to send this
on to your friends.
If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life, then you will
probably delete this email.
But God help you when the gate slams shut!
AMERICA, The home of the Free
Because of the Brave.

I believe that explains things better than I ever could.
